The fact that Daisy Parker doesn’t shoot Nick Coltrane right between the eyes when he walks into her office is cause for celebration. You see Nick took Daisy’s innocence nine years before and then left – rather abruptly - right afterwards. Now Nick needs Daisy, professionally of course, because she’s the best bodyguard around and someone is trying to “persuade” him to part with some incriminating negatives!

It’s a sparkling romance by one of the best – Susan Andersen. She excels at putting two adversarial characters into tight spots and letting them fumble around until they a) dispose of the bad guys, and b) realize that the really hot sex they’re having happens to be their way of saying “I love you” to each other! This charming novel is no exception to that rule; both Nick and Daisy are charmers of the first order. Nick has definitely changed from the callow young man who took Daisy to a hotel room and left her there, and Daisy has made a life for herself out of law enforcement and now personal security. Daisy likes to carry a weapon and be in charge. Unfortunately, her emotions get a little out of control around Nick, who still has what it takes to push Daisy’s buttons.

And push them he does! You will love the merry chase that leads these two passionate characters into bed and into love, and the excellent plot that backs them up is not to be ignored either. Since discovering the wonderful writing style of Ms. Andersen, I have enjoyed every single book of hers that I have read, and it was a pleasure to find this one at my local bookstore just waiting to be devoured. She is a writer who can take you away from wherever you happen to be and plunge you into the world she has created alongside her delightful characters, whether they are the two lovers fighting and making up, or the eccentric secondary players, in this case friends whose touch with make up and fashion turn Daisy into a glorious rose for formal occasions!

It’s a wonderful book – funny, passionate and exciting. Do consider adding it to your shelves, along with the other novels by this talented writer.
