Edge of Darkness by Cherry Adair is the Third and final book in a trilogy featuring three brothers who are operatives in the classified paranormal unit of T-FLAC, the counter-terrorism group. Each brother has a unique gift to bring to T-FLAC …… and a family curse!
Duncan Edge has heard about the “family curse” all his life and has thrown himself into his wizardry in order to become the best wizard possible and also to hopefully capture the coveted Council spot of Master Wizard. His work with T-FLAC is also very important to him and he really didn’t need to hear his old mentor’s telepathic message “Help her. Stop Her.” Duncan knew who Henry was talking about but Serena Brightman is the last person Duncan wants, or needs, in his life now! He has enough to do with Wizards being murdered and no one having any clue who is doing it or why! He sends a couple of “Halves”, wizards who haven’t finely tuned their powers, to watch over Serena after receiving Henry’s message.
Serena Brightman is also a wizard and she has a huge secret that Duncan must never find out, until the appropriate time! One of her strongest powers is her control, and sometimes lack of control, over water. Serena is the head of the Campbell Foundation, a multi-million dollar humanitarian organization. Serena has always secretly compared every man to Duncan and all of them have come up lacking, which could be the reason she married a man much older than she. Everything has been going along great, unless you count her two step-sons who have been trying for a year to break their father’s will. So why is Duncan Edge sending his minions to watch over Serena?
What will happen when Duncan and Serena have to compete against each other for the coveted Council spot of Master Wizard?? Why is someone trying to sabotage a top-secret project Serena and The Campbell Foundation are spearheading?
After reading this book, Duncan and Serena rapidly moved up into my “Top 5” of favorite couples! Duncan tries to ignore the fact that Serena is his soul-mate but he can’t seem to stay away from her or stop worrying about her. Serena has always loved Duncan but has never let on. This is a must read for any fan of the paranormal!! Thank you Ms. Adair and I’m waiting with bated breath for the next trilogy of T-FLAC psi-division
