From the moment Hayden Rothwell crossed the threshold of her cousinís home, Alexia Welbourne knew that their lives would be changed forever. The darkly handsome Marquess of Easterbrook meant trouble for them all. Alexia has no idea that he will become her salvation.
Confronting Timothy Longworth is the last thing Hayden wants to do, but honor demands that someone stop him from stealing any more money from the bank. Innocent people are in danger of losing their income because of his deceit. Haydenís friendship with Timís late brother, Ben, is the only thing stopping him from contacting the authorities and placing Tim under arrest. That and the realization that Timís sister and cousin, the attractive Miss Welbourne, would be devastated.
Madeline Hunter has written a smouldering novel of passion in The Rules of Seduction. I enjoyed watching Alexia become a confident woman, assured and strong, while being thoroughly seduced by a very powerful man. It gives her the character she needs to stand up to Hayden and show him that she will not be cowed.
As always, Ms. Hunter knows how to build her characters and plot to gain the most interest from her readers, and this is no exception. I was engrossed in the book until the final page. There are several intriguing twists that will keep readers on their toes.
