As Queen of the Norse Underworld, Hel was loved and worshipped by many. With the old ways forgotten and no new souls passing through Niflheim to be reborn, Hel must abdicate her throne and her title. A new life awaits her on mortal earth, and if there is one thing that Hel fears the most, it is this new life. Venturing in a new life is never easy, especially not when you have tiny serpents instead of hair! Half corpse, half beauty, she carries her birthright as a physical feature, one side of her body marred by death and dying flesh.

Jilted by the only man she ever wanted, Hel dreams of nothing more than being loved. Making a new life for herself at Hacienda Valhalla Ė a refuge for the old Gods- Hel meets the blind god Hodur. Worried that her past indiscretions will make them enemies, Hel is shocked to find that Hodur does not hold onto the past. As the passion rises between them, Hel falls in love and begins to believe that death really can be warmed over.

But someone is watching Helís every move. As a faithful servant of the old ways he wants Hel for his own, and he will stop at nothing to claim what is hisÖ

Death Warmed Over is the charming second instalment to the wonderful Teaching Old Gods New Tricks series. With quirky and fun characters, the reader is taken on a journey deep into the heart of the Godís mortal sanctuary. Although Hel may be Goddess of the Underworld she experiences doubts and fears that every female will relate too. The joy she feels at loosing her winter appearance had this reviewer smiling from ear to ear! Hodur is sexy, witty and perfect for Hel. The passion they share is scorching and sweet.

Entwined with passion, love and loveable characters is the age old fight against evil. In this case that evil is in the form of a man.

Ms Fosterís narrative constantly draws you deep into the world of the Norse gods. I did not think that she could top the first book in the series, but this author constantly amazes! Death Warmed Over is a book that will stay with you for a very long time.
