With a plan to seek refuge with a lost relative in London, Helen Rivenall flees her religious tyrant of an uncle’s home with her brother Edward in tow. Soon after her arrival Helen is lured into a brothel and ends being auctioned off to the highest bidder against her will.

Sebastian Rockwood, Earl of Melton seals his fate one night while on a visit to a brothel once the Earl sets his eyes on the lovely prize on sale he convinces himself it is his duty to save her from the clutches of another more lecherous bidder.

Things progress quickly once Sebastian takes Helen into his home. Neither of them can deny the sensual force that seems to drive them together. Sebastian desires Helen and is not afraid to express it and though Helen comes from a relatively sheltered background she is not one to deny her passions. She quickly succumbs to her desire and their mutual lust.

As murder and potential danger shroud the streets of London conflict arises when the line between lust and love becomes blurred. Helen accuses Sebastian of only desiring her. She wants love and commitment while Sebastian’s tortured past keep him from surrendering his heart completely.

Obsession is satisfying read complete with intrigue, mystery and the kind of potent sensuality that fogs up the mirrors. The chemistry between Sebastian and Helen is incredibly intense. If you’re looking for a cutting edge romance that isn’t the least bit cliché then look no further.
