After the murder of her father Brenna Nichols must not only come to grips with who her father really was but with a world she knew nothing about. At the same time Blake Trahern comes back into her life, years after he had been taken in by her father. Now with Blake’s help Brenna must avoid subsequent attempts on her life while at the same time trying to discover why her father was murdered. Not only must Brenna come to grip with the lies that her father told her but with her growing feelings for Blake.

As a Paladin warrior Blake Trahern must fight to keep the balance of good and evil in check if the world is to remain stable but the more he fights and dies for this cause the closer he is to turning into the very creatures he stands against. In a moment of need Blake has come to protect Brenna from any that could wish her harm as a way to repay the man who took him in. Blake is determined to oversee Brenna’s safety until the killers are caught and hopes that he won’t turn to the dark side before she is safe. And the more time Blake spends in Brenna’s company the more he wishes they had a chance at a life together.

Dark Defender is a fantastic read that will enchant readers and have them eager for more. The very idea of a warrior who saves the world on a constant basis at the risk of his humanity is one that will get any woman sighing. Blake is such a wonderfully dark and brooding character that makes your heart ache with the need to see him get the happy ending he deserves. Blake’s pairing with Brenna is simply fantastic because she won’t let him get away with anything. Alexis Morgan’s Paladin warrior series is one that I look forward to reading and hope that she gets a chance to expand into a much larger one. Alexis Morgan creates such wonderful characters that not only captivate but will call to readers.
