Talented Mia Savard is the top designer at her fatherís bridal design company. Mia is also up to her eyeballs with tulle and taffeta. She longs to expand her repertoire and has begged her father to allow her move to the trousseau department, where she will be able to do a variety of garments and styles. Her stubborn father is not budging, and a battle of wills ends with Mia tendering her resignation from the company.
On the heels of her departure, one of her exclusive designs appears in an ad for her familyís archenemy, Heavenly Bridals. There is a traitor in the office, and Mia will do whatever she can to help her family salvage their reputation.
Wanting immediate results, Lucien Savard hires Joe Kerr, a well-respected private investigator to find the mole. No one in the office is exempt from his scrutiny, not even Mia. Of course, once Joe gets a glimpse of the stunning designer, he wants to throw professional distance out the window.
Marriage by Design was a fast-paced read with plenty of action. Author Lynn Michaels created some memorable characters and then spun out a story that has quite a few unexpected twists. This is the first book I have read by the author, and can see why her fan base continues to grow. I will be looking for her other novels on my next trip to the bookstore
