Bailey Elliot came to Tawes Island to check out some property she inherited from a great-aunt she never knew she had. She also came to uncover information about her mother. Bailey had been adopted by a couple who did not live on the island. All of her life, no one would talk about her birth mother or anything else related to the island. Now this time, she was going to find out one way or another.
Daniel Catlin wants Bailey off the island. He is afraid she is going to get herself killed if she keeps digging up the past and old wounds. There are people who would be hurt if the truth ever came to light. He also is attracted to her, which he didnít count on. He needs to convince her to let go of the past and get on with her life.
Bailey, in spite of herself, is attracted to Daniel. She does not listen to him; she continues to poke around on the island to learn the truth. When two bodies are discovered burned in a house, Bailey knows it is because of her, this does not stop her though. She must know the truth, even if it means she will be killed. She also feels Daniel is hiding his own secret, he is closed lipped about his own past, could it be related to hers, time will tell.
A great romantic suspense book by a talented author. Twists and turns will surprise the reader. The blurb on the back of the book is somewhat deceiving, but a worthwhile read.
