Do you like Jennifer Crusie? Are you hooked on Rachel Gibson? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, you are going to love Kylie Adams’ fun tale “Baby, Baby”.
This is one of those books that could easily be turned into a "Moonlighting"-type movie, because the interaction of Tatiana Fox, would-be movie star, and Jack Thorpe, ex-soccer god, is David vs. Maddie to the life!!! Right down to the ‘grab him and quit talking, just do it’ scene!
It certainly helps to know your movie trivia, because this tale revolves around Tatiana Fox, who is trying to make it from B-movies onto Tinseltown’s A-list. The criteria for being lowest of the low is having Hugh Grant pull up in his car and tell you to get in!! You can see why I loved this book. Tatiana, however, has some personal crises to overcome, chief amongst which is the care of her adopted twins. Hubby, for reasons you’ll have to read about, just doesn’t fit the bill, and the divorce will be final soon anyway. Along comes Jack Thorpe, handsome, hunky and broke after his manager lost everything on a deal that went sour. The kids love him, he’s a great personal trainer, and he’s hired. Then there’s Tatiana Fox! My, what a character. Over the top, exhibitionistic, yet loving and needy underneath, Tatiana steals his heart. And her readers’ hearts too.
This is a raunchy, glittering, name-dropping romp through the excesses of the film industry, made even better by a wonderful hero and a superb heroine! I laughed a lot while reading this book – I think you will too. (Oh – don’t forget to watch for the references to poor Stephen Baldwin!)
