The Yama are an old, proud, civilized race of beings who have subjugated their emotions in favor of higher reasoning. Interaction with lesser beings like humans is taboo, for the emotional natures of humans are like the most exquisite drug to the Yama. Through the vengeful plot, a quarter-human child Xishi Huon is placed in the household of a prince of the Yama.
Raised alongside the Midarri heir, Corum, the two become close. They are the perfect soul mates until the emotional nature of their relationship is revealed. Banished to an orphanage Xishi is trained to be a courtesan. However, when Corum becomes her new owner, Xishi no longer recognizes the cold stranger before her. The boy she remembers is locked in an icy prison.
Corum dare not give in to the hungers Xishi raises in him. To do so would bring the harshest of punishments upon them but if he doesn’t give in soon they just may drive him crazy.
Emma Holly masterfully pens a new alluring tale in the intriguing world of the yama. The Prince of Ice is incredible. It is stimulating, engaging, and decadent good reading as only an Emma Holly book could be.
