Jack Langdon, Lord Frayne, takes great pride in his family honor. He will do anything to keep it intact. He also is hiding a secret. He has quite a talent for sorcery. He has been told from a very young age not to use it. The wealthy English do not have a need to resort to magic. When a tragedy leaves his life in turmoil, he goes to the one person which could help, Abigail Barton. She is known to be an excellent wizard, and since she is of lower class, she has never had a need to hide her talent. She agrees to try to save his life, but there is a condition, marry her or she will not agree.

Abigail knew she was taking a chance in trying to save Jack’s life. She had to call on the help of other wizards to help; this would take all their magic combined in order for it to work. Once she has what she desired, his name and a child, she plans on living apart from him. She knows he dislikes magic; she also knows he will forbid her to use it. Her magic is what keeps her going.

Jack and Abigail have extremely strong feelings for each other. The sparks almost fly off the page as the passion and tension heat up between these two. They embark on a dangerous journey loving each other. This love may cost both of them everything they cherish.

A magical read. You can feel the passion Jack and Abigail have for one another throughout the book. A great love is worth taking the risks.
