Trouble is a book you will not be able to put down. It took me two days to finish the book and truthfully I would have not put it down but things had to get done. Ann Christopher made her characters come alive with each turn on the page.

Mike Baldwin is a defense attorney who does not lose often. But if he discovers you have lied to him, you can bet you will get your retainer back in full and be shown the door. Mike is honest and works just as hard as anyone in his office. His brother Sean is nothing like Mike. He blames everyone else for all the wrongs in his life. He has a lot of growing up to do but at what cost and how will it hurt Mike? Their mother is ill again and has started her cancer treatment but has requested Mike look out for Sean again who is now in law school. In order to fix his relationship with his brother he attends a party at the home of one of the professors. Not only does he run into Sean but also a woman who takes his breath away and feels he has to have her.

Dara Williams is a law student and a very serious one at that. She has had one relationship but was betrayed by the man so not only does she not share her past with others, but hides it from them with the exception of one good friend. Dara is opinionated and will stand up for what or whom she believes in. Dara is assigned to Mike's firm for her internship but the attraction between the two can cause mayhem.

There is one person, Jamal, who can see what these two are avoiding. Mike thinks he is betraying his brother since Sean thinks he is in love with Dara. But the only feelings she has for Sean are friendship, nothing more. What will it take for these two to say I Love You to each other? Do both Mike and Dara let their past hurt their future? If they finally come to a relationship, how will Sean take it?

Be sure to pick up your copy of Trouble. It will become a keeper for you as well as for me. I highly recommend this book.
