Prudence Ryland is on a quest to find the Holy Grail and she is certain that she’s found it. Her quest is not a purely academic one but one of great personal interest, a matter of life and death, hers. Prudence hopes that by finding and using the Holy Grail it will not only give her a chance at a long life but spare her family from having to lose her. Since her first meeting with Chapel Pru has been overwhelmingly attracted to him, an attraction that does not appear to be considered. It is within Chapel that her salvation resides, not only that of her body, but of her heart as well.
Chapel, a vampire working with the church to atone for what he believes is his ungodly existence. It is through the church that he comes to be in Cornwall in order to investigate rumors that the Holy Grail is located there and to protect against the possibility that it is in fact the Blood Grail that resides in Cornwall. Chapel has a long history with the Blood Grail and he won’t let the enchanting Prudence Ryland stand in his way from letting the Blood Grail fall into the wrong hands. But when Chapel finds out the truth about Pru, all that he believes will be challenged and his existence will be called into question.
Be Mine Tonight is a touching story that will make you ache for Chapel and Prudence as well as make readers yearn for them to find the love and peace that they deserve. Although Pru is physically fragile her strong spirit doesn’t fail to shine bright for all to see. Chapel's torment is one that will have readers yearn to sooth his suffering. Kathryn Smith has created two wonderful characters whose indomitable spirits will inspire readers to find such strength within themselves. I greatly look forward to reading more work by Kathryn Smith and her enchanting stories.
