Once again we are taken back to the Athena Academy to a scene of a crime. This time they are trying to solve a murder case over a decade old. They are trying to find the murderer of Marion Gracelyn. Marion was a U.S. Senator and the founder of Athena Academy. She had a lot of opposition to her opening up this academy for girls.

It seems the Dark Angel, Justin, is back in this story as well. We have Alex Forsythe and well as her grandfather, Charles Forsythe, fondly called G.C. by Alex. It seems that G.C. has uncovered a letter from Marion that was written just days before she was murdered.

Remember from before that Alex and Justin are both FBI agents. Alex is a forensic scientist and Justin is a field agent. It will take both of them and some help from the other Cassandraís to solve and bring down the man behind the murder.

From the beginning of Alexís quest to find the murderer, she was in danger. The person didnít want anyone digging in the past and make the connection to him. If he were found out it would cause havoc of unknown proportion around DC and other places as well.

Between Alex trying to solve the case and trying to stay alive she also does some soul searching. Justin has been patient with her but for how long? Can Alex get over her fear or what has her afraid of to the next step to move forward with Justin?

The action is packed from the beginning of Flashback to the very end. It takes on a quest to find the answer to not only the identity of the murderer of Marion Gracelyn but of looking at the life youíve lead and realize some of the mistakes that youíve made along the way and try to move past them and heal mended bridges. Alex and Justin in my opinion are perfect for one another. They compliment the other in how they face the world and how they bring out the best in each other.

Ms. Davis has given us a glimpse of some of the other Cassandraís and it seems that Justin is as much a part of the Athena Academy as the Cassandraís and is included in that inner circle. We are also introduced to a local detective, Eric, that caught Marionís murder case and we get to see Mr. Lang, the librarian in Athens, aka the Hunk to the Cassandraís. Even though Flashback solved one case, it seems there is more to be discovered.
