In A Rebellious Bride, author Brenda Hiatt continues the story of the Saint of Seven Dials, a mysterious Robin Hood type of character who first appeared in her book Rogue's Honor, who alternately terrorizes and fascinates the decadent London society while helping the poor and the deserving. In this story, Lord Marcus Northrup takes up the mantle of the Saint from his friend Luke and continues the tradition. One day he encounters American heiress, Quinn Peverill, but does not realize she is a female because of her male attire. Quinn takes his fake façade of a pompous English gentleman at face value and is not at all impressed by him. But still his handsome face keeps popping up in her dreams and thoughts. Then fickle fate takes a most unexpected turn and to avoid a scandal they suddenly find themselves engaged to be married!

This is a set of circumstances which neither of them likes the least! Marcus knows that marriage will interfere with his nocturnal activities as the Saint and he does not want to give up the only bit of excitement to come his way after a long time. Headstrong and unconventional, Quinn would rather manage her father’s shipping industry than be a society lady and marriage to a society gentleman like Marcus, as she believes him to be, will not suit her at all. Besides, she has a few secrets of her own to keep! Will they ever realize the truth about each other? Or will they be swept away by the passion that blazes as hot as their mutual resentment? And will the authorities finally discover and capture the mysterious Saint of Seven Dials?

This is an engrossing Regency-era tale which provides the readers with plenty of adventure and excitement. The narrative is crisp, the characters full of vim and verve, and the plot line is smoothly picked up from where the author left it in the previous book of this series. This a book which makes one think as well as entertains! The ending of the book is also very entertaining! The passion between the lead characters is HOT, to say the least! Marcus teaches Quinn not only the intricacies of London society but also initiates her into the extremely sensual and erotic world of bedroom games! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
