Josie Villefranche’s granme had passed away nearly a year ago leaving her the proud owner of the Hotel Josephine a legendary hotel in the heart of the legendary French Quarter in New Orleans. Josie has done her best to keep the hotel running but bad luck seems to be around every turn. The latest being a murder of a woman in one of the hotel rooms a couple of weeks ago. With this latest tragedy Josie has laid off most of the staff, still refusing to give up hope. She doesn’t want to sell to the company that wants to buy the hotel as she feels the old building is part of her legacy.

Drew “The Closer” Morrison has come to the quarter on a mission. He has been hired by the people wanting to buy the hotel Josephine to get the property by any means necessary and he is not used to failing. What better way to size up the situation than to move into the hotel and that’s just what Drew does.

Drew and Josie feel an instant attraction and soon they are exploring these feelings. Will Drew be able to do whatever necessary to gain the hotel for his employer’s despite his involvement with the owner? Will Josie be able to trust Drew when she finds out the real reason for his stay at the hotel? Is the murder related to the people who want to buy the hotel? Would they really go that far to drive Josie out and just how deeply is Drew involved? To answer these questions you will just have to pick up your own copy of Tori Carrington’s latest Blaze, Obsession.

The author does a splendid job of bringing the New Orleans ambiance into this story. The story is a bit edgier than a normal Blaze for sure. Drew is an edgy character and one that readers may not like from the beginning. The suspense aspect of the book is very well done and the author keeps the reader guessing as to who is behind the murder.

Tori Carrington is an author not afraid to write outside the box and Obsession is the latest example of this. If you long for the lazy days of summer and the special feel of a New Orleans setting be sure and grab a copy of Obsession today. Also look for Submission, a tie in story available next month. I can’t wait!
