Finally...the long awaited sequel to Teresa Medeiros' book After Midnight comes The Vampire Who Loved Me. I have waited months for this book and was not disappointed.
At the tender age of seventeen, Portia Cabot fell head over heels, madly in love with Julian Kane, who just happened to be a vampire and she just happened to have saved his life years before and, she has the puncture marks on her throat to prove it. Now, after disappearing from her life for five years, Julian is back and with his return comes the murder of several women in the London streets. Bruitally murdered and not a drop of blood left in them. Could Julian have done such a thing? Have the years of drunken debauchery finally taken its toll on him? She just can't believe it of him...or can she?
Julian Kane has returned. After five years away from those who love him, he has returned without his soul. Five years of searching for the vampire who had inherited his soul, wasted. He also returns at a time when it could mean nothing but trouble and death to him...possibly at the hands of his brother Adrian, the famed vampire hunter. Can the love of his bewitching, young Portia save him one last time? Or is it too late for him and he must face the fact that he will spend eternity living in darkness?
After reading After Midnight I have been waiting on pins and needles for Julian's story and boy was it worth the wait! I absolutely love Teresa Medeiros and she nails Regency on the head with her attention to detail and her well thought-out characters. Julian and Portia share a love that is eternal and is strong enough to withstand anything that life can throw at them...except for the fact that he is a vampire, of course. The secondary characters only add to the body of this story and would be sorely missed if not there. The villian is one that you will love to hate...she's a bad one, she is!!
Mystery, thrilling action and steam that any romance lover will cherish and you have a best seller on your hands! Congrats Teresa and thanks for such a great story.
This is one of my top picks for your fall reading. You won't be disappointed!! Happy reading!
