Austin Erickson, member of the Stake-Out-Team, is doing surveillance outside the DVN Digital Vampires Network television station. His boss, Sean Whelan, is desperate to find out where his daughter Shanna is being held. Sean is still convinced she’s been brain washed by the vampires and is being held against her will. When Austin sees a very beautiful woman enter the building he’s immediately attracted to her, but can’t confirm whether she’s vampire or human.
Darcy Newhart had been turned into a vampire four years ago, and still hates the loss of her old life. She doesn’t fit in with anyone around her and fantasizes about the feel of the sun on her skin. She used to be a reporter and misses her job, misses having a purpose in life. She’s now trying to convince one of the head honchos at DVN to give her a chance to prove herself. Her idea for a vampire reality show intrigues her boss and she’s given the green light to start filming “The Sexiest Man on Earth”. The goal of the show is for Roman Draganesti’s former harem to choose their next master. What her boss doesn't know is that she's including humans among the contestants.
When Whelan gets news of this he sets up Austin and another member of his team to gain entrance to the show as contestants so they can search for more information about the vampires. When Austin first meets Darcy he feels her pulse and assumes she’s human. His attraction to her makes it difficult for him to keep his mind on his mission, although he does observe that the vampires around him aren’t the evil demons his boss claims they are.
