Monsters move along the world and the only thing that stands between them and the innocent are the Reapers.

Reaper Cynyr Cree’s job is to take out rogues within his range of the western territories. He has been given the right to execute rogues as well as humans that tried to commit some of the most evil acts imagined. Finishing up the execution of a rogue, all Cree wanted was some solitude and food. Upon hearing a muted scream and the sound of a struggle, he knew that evil was walking the land and it was in the process of taking its next victim.

Aingeal has lived through a hell that many can’t imagine. Brought West by her husband for a new start at raising horses, she never thought that he would sell her to a Jakotai chieftain for the horses to start the ranch. Now she is on the run for her life from the Jakotai Chieftain’s son and meeting Cynyr is her chance at a freedom she has always dreamed of. Cynyr doesn’t know what to make of Aingeal, all he knows is that she makes him feel something he has never felt before and he will kill anyone who tries to take her from him.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has done it again. She has created another Reaper story that is bound to satiate the most voracious appetite. Cynyr and Aingeal live in a very hard and brutal future; death is the way of life and forever is only a fairy tale. Ms. Boyett-Compo writes a story that is both brutally seductive and thrillingly dangerous. This is definite must read in her acclaimed Reaper series. I can’t wait for the next installment.
