Naomi Connor is on a secret mission to redeem herself. Twenty years ago, when she was a smart, but reckless pre-teen, a hacking prank allowed a big European crime group access to some top secret information of Brennan Shipping Industries. Nowadays, Naomi is a computer security consultant, who finds security leaks for businesses. She has just been hired by Joe Casey, chief technology officer for Brennan Shipping Industries. Joe knows Naomi had some issues in the past with hacking, but has no idea it involved his family business. Naomi wants to complete her job for him before she voices her "true confessions".
Joe is a bit intimidated by Naomi, even though he is a smart, take charge kind of guy. Not only is she smarter than he is, she has a smoldering sexiness that makes it difficult to keep things between them on a professional level.
Naomi feels a strong attraction for Joe, but does not want to jeopardize her job and is afraid that Joe will hate her if he ever learns her secret. The author does a fabulous job of building tantalizing tension between Joe and Casey.
The author has done her homework to make the technological sections believable and explained things in simple enough terms for those who are behind the curve in rapidly developing computer technology.
Big Trouble will provide big fun for all lovers of contemporary romance. Ms. Jameson's sophomore effort shows she has the right stuff to be a romance superstar. I plan on going back to read her debut novel, My Hero and suggest you do the same.
