Elizabeth “Betsy” Taylor is very put out with her fiancé who habitually dodges her attempts to include him in their wedding plans and she would make more of a fuss if she didn’t know that he is completely besotted with her. Not only must she be on the look out for her surprise birthday party which she is trying to help plan but she must also prepare to meet with a delegation of vampires from Europe who have finally come to pay their respects to her as Queen of the Vampires. All of Betsy’s problems pale in comparison when she learns that her best friends life is in jeopardy and that the only solution to save her might be higher then either she or her friend wants to pay. Betsy must try to figure out how to solve all her problems without causing too much damage to all those around her.

Undead and Unpopular is a blast and will have readers laughing out loud. Betsy is a wisecracking and unique heroine that will delight readers every time. Betsy’s relationship with her fiancé Eric is wonderful to read about because the love they have for each other is evident even when they argue. Betsy’s self-absorption makes for some really funny moments especially when she contemplates how much the woes of others affect her life. MaryJanice Davidson has a wonderful writing style that is greatly entertaining and will have readers coming back for more. MaryJanice Davidson’s characters are quirky and witty and never fail to entertain. I look forward to reading more of this wonderful author’s work.
