Dana Rose has a closet full of unflattering bridesmaid dresses, in all colors of the rainbow. The last thing she needs is to be in another wedding! But her best friend, Tracey Cox, is getting married, and of course, Dana is up to the task, yet again.
Unfortunately, the dress doesnít fit right and every move Dana makes causes the dress to rip. Finally, the situation is slightly obscene, and Dana needs to change. Mr. Practically Perfect arrives on the scene right then, ready to carry Dana off to safety. He isnít perfect, because, after all, Danaís ex-boyfriend Adrian married Danaís friend and then opened the business of Danaís dreams.
If that isnít enough, a prodigal brother and a back-stabbing sis comes into the picture. If Dana didnít have her friendship group, the Sassy Sistahood, to rely on, sheíd be sunk. What is a girl to do?
MADE OF HONOR is book one of the Sassy Sistahood series. As a fan of Christian chick lit, I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, I didnít find it all it was cracked up to be. I found it hard to get into and the menagerie of characters confusing and it took me several chapters before I figured out who was who.
This is the first book Iíve read by Marilyn Griffith. She has expertly woven in the faith message and several instances in the book I wanted to stand up and cheer for Dana as she attempts to make her singles church group see reason. There is also plenty of conflict to keep the story going. My only complaint about MADE OF HONOR is that I was often confused about where the story was taking place and who the people in the scene were. Discussion questions are included at that back of the book, making it ideal for small group or discussion groups.
