Harlequin’s Blaze line advertises itself as having “red-hot reads” and this book certainly lives up to this description. Dr. MacKenzie Lloyd, scientific researcher, approaches the question of relationships and marriage with her usual clinical thoroughness. She intends to keep her future husband (whoever he may be!) by ensuring his happiness, and has a list of ideas she thinks will guarantee a blissful spouse. All she needs is a test subject.

Lucas Wainwright is fascinated by his sister Sophie’s friend, MacKenzie, but doesn’t realize she’s about to turn his corporate world upside down with her wild idea! She has asked if he wouldn’t mind being her sex slave – excuse me, research partner - in order to help her test out a few theories. Seeing as he’s been trying to figure out how to get her naked and sweaty, it sounds like a perfect scenario for both of them!

Add a Key West resort, a mermaid, a hooker and a thong, and you have all the ingredients for a sizzling hot pepper of a read!!! Spicy and delicious, this tale takes us along on a wild ride of sexual fantasies, erotic lovemaking and the true definition of passion – love!! How all these different elements are resolved is part of the fun, the other is watching brilliant and sophisticated CEO Lucas get himself turned completely inside out by a focused scientist who hasn’t a clue what she is doing to his heart (or his trousers). Lucas and Mac are wonderful together, exploring their sensuality and enjoying each other’s bodies while failing to see what is actually happening to them. The secondary characters play their assigned roles with enthusiasm – don’t be surprised to see Sophie’s story soon, because her fascination with one of Lucas’ employees begs further exploration.

A fun tale of hot bodies and hot sex – this is wonderful vacation or lazy weekend reading material and a credit to the Blaze line.
