Normally I will not pick up a book and read it, if it is in a series. But I decided to give His E-Mail Order Wife a chance. I know that sometimes these stories are stand-alones and this is definitely one that can stand by itself.

Amanda is Drew’s daughter and all she wants is a mother for herself and a wife for her dad. Amanda is only six and very computer savvy for her age. She goes to a singles site (courtesy of her nanny she knows where to look)and looks around for a mother while her dad is out of the country. She also has some help from her grandmother Lilly.

You guessed it; they found a likely candidate, and started e-mailing her. But there is a major problem: all this time, the woman, Kristina, thinks she has been corresponding with Drew and all the while it has been Amanda and Lilly. Drew doesn’t know anything about this until it is too late. He is only back in the country 24 hours before Kristina makes her appearance. She is ready to move in, since they had supposedly agreed (via e-mail)that it would be good to live in the same house and get to know one another before taking the final step and marrying.

Drew is mesmerized by Kristina. He can’t take his eyes off of her. He wants to let her down easy and tell her the truth about this deception. He never gets the chance because Amanda came running to greet Kristina. So he tries to get her to dislike him telling her everything that he thinks will push her away from him.

Kristina is also drawn to Drew and she wants to make it work between them. She really likes Amanda, well; really she loves her and is attached to her from the start. Now if only she can get her hormones under control when Drew is around.

Can Kristina and Drew work out the differences between them? What will happen when Kristina finally realizes that it was Amanda and Lilly sending her e-mails and not Drew? Will she follow her heart or her head? And what about Drew will he still want her to leave?

Ms. Gold has given us a wonderful story. Kristina and Drew both have things in their past that haunt them, but with the help from each other and Amanda they might just be able to move forward. It was great to see these two stubborn people go rounds with each and not give in, one trying to run the other off and one trying to stay around just a little longer and both growing more attached by the minute and maybe just a little more in love. It does sneak up on you when you least expect it especially for Drew.
