Tahn has found peace and joy and the love of a sweet woman. He needs to return to Alastair however to learn the truth about himself and to find out what happened to his family and comrades. He is still hated in Alastair by the town people. He continues on even though he is challenged every step of his journey.
Netta Trilett does not want him to go back. She fears for his life. She knows he was a different person back then, she has seen the changes in him. She loves him for who he is now. He helped her escape a difficult situation. They have lived quietly since then. She also knows this is something he needs to do. She places her faith and trust in God to see this loving, caring man through his journey to forgiveness.
As this is a sequel, I was somewhat confused. They mention situations which happened in the first book. Itís best to read the series in order of publication. Still a worthwhile read.
