Meg Barratt has avoided marriage. She doesn't want the typical society kind of marriage, she wants adventure and romance like those that she reads about in her books. Little does she know that her life is going to turn into one of her favorite romances.

Cosimo (no last name, at least that we ever learn), sees women as just objects, to be used for business and or pleasure, nothing more. But when his crew kidnaps the wrong woman, he finds that he may have to change his views on the fairer sex, When he decides to use her for his own purposes on his latest mission for England, he is in for the fight for his life and his heart. Can he handle that?

It has been a long while since I have read a Jane Feather book. For the last couple of years, her books really haven't called out to me to buy and read them. However, Almost A Lady has certainly brough me back to Jane's books. I really enjoyed watching Meg overcome her outlook on life as she thought she had wanted it to be. Cosimo is a real challange to get to know. We don't really learn too much about him, except that he is rugged, handsome and carries some pretty wicked knives in his work for his country. These two really set the pages on fire, after they get over their stubborness and get on with business at hand! Full or adventure, intrigue and steamy sex, this is a true keeper.

If you have never read a Jane Feather book, pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
