Employed by bitter rivals, two antiquities experts are forced to team up when a sniper starts taking potshots at them in the Columbian jungle. Tyler St. James and Kane Pendleton have been in some close encounters before, but this one may be their last!.
Hot on the trail of a legendary golden chalice, they soon realize that this mission can only be accomplished if they pool their resources and their expertise. Their past encounters have led to a mutual respect, and a large dose of mistrust. Those sparks seem to be setting off a different kind of fire this time, though.
Enemy Mine may be a reissue from Kay Hooper’s backlist, but the story is timeless. Take Indiana Jones, add a bit of Romancing the Stone, and you have a sharp, action-packed romance that is sure to entertain. Both Tyler and Kane have hidden depths, and demons to conquer. The thrill of the hunt turns into the passion of a lifetime as they discover that their competitive encounters have laid the groundwork for a permanent partnership.
As a fan of Ms. Hooper from her Loveswept days, I was thrilled to read one of her earlier works. Her skill as an author was evident even then as her intriguing plot and sharp characters kept me entranced. I am sure that readers who like romantic adventure will enjoy this escape from the mundane. I certainly did, and will be waiting with interest to see what titles come next!
