Melissa is in hiding from her former fiancÚ, who is determined to get her back because he knows she saw him kill his father and the police wouldn't help so she goes on the run with a young man who helps her but he is killed and she is again on her own. When she meets Cody she has to learn to trust him. He slowly begins to believe her story.

When I read the prologue for this story I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it as it seemed to far fetched. How wrong I was! This is a cracking romantic suspense. It may seem far fetched at first but once the story unfolds nothing matters but reading it through to find out if Melissa can escape the dangerous, deranged man who is her former fiancÚ.

Cody was actually hired to find her and return her to that man but when she is attacked and he has to save her he realises that he needs to protect her not return her to this man.

The thrills and spills and plot twists in this book are so fast moving the reader will hate to put the book down.

The characterisation and the plot are so good it is almost like watching a movie.

I hadn't read an Ashley Ladd book before, but now I am going to explore the publisher's website to see if she has written more books. It's not everyday a reader discovers an author this good.

The character of Melissa is so well drawn that she seems like a real person. A damsel in distress. But a very spunky young woman who has learned to be strong and independent.

This is a perfect book to buy for your Easter break. Treat yourself you won't regret it. A fantastic read.
