Six years ago Charlie LeBlanc found her sister, Emily, murdered in her apartment with a single black silk stocking laid next to the body. This event prompted Charlie to become a police officer with the New Orleans Police Department. Although her sister’s killer has never been caught it is Charlie’s hope that one day she will be able to help put the guilty party away.

Charlie is called to the city’s latest homicide. The victim, Francesca Hill was set to marry one of the city’s wealthiest men, J.P. Stratton in a matter of hours. Upon arriving on scene, Charlie notices that a single black silk stocking has been left at this crime scene as well. Could this be the same person who killed Emily all those years ago?

Charlie has plenty of suspects to choose from, among them J.P. Stratton’s own children, Cole and Holly who both had well publicized disputes with the deceased. As Charlie delves deeper into her investigation of the case she begins to have feelings for Cole Stratton, one of the suspects. Can she remain objective with these feelings clouding the picture?

After a rather long absence from the publishing world, Metsy Hingle returns with a riveting read in Black Silk. The New Orleans setting is done to perfection giving the reader a true taste of this magnificent city. Ms Hingle has woven a plot with many twists and turns and suspects galore. A secondary story involving Charlie’s partner and her sister offers the reader even more to love in this superb novel. Black Silk is romantic suspense at it’s best. Metsy Hingle is back with a vengeance. Be sure to pick up a copy of Black Silk today. You won’t be disappointed.
