When Liam Cameron opens his eyes, he believes he is staring at an angel. Liam had been attacked, beaten, and then left for dead. Lucky for him, he was found and brought over to a small cottage to be tended by Keira, a healer. Keira is a cousin to Brother Matthew, an old friend of Liam.
As Keira tends Liamís injuries and takes care of him as he recovers, she canít help but feel intrigued by the man. The feeling deepens when Liam slowly begins to spend more time awake. However, she knows she can not tangle herself...she made a promise to her late husband, a promise that she intends to keep...and she does not want to drag Liam into her problems.
The more time Liam spends with Keira the more he is determined to win her. He is aware there isnít much he can offer her, but he will find a way.
Highland Champion is another engaging installment in Hannah Howellís Highland series. Those of you who have been following the series will probably remember Liam from previous books. The handsome and charming Liam finally meets his match in Kiera, an honorable and gentle healer, and what a beautiful couple they make. Although the story is straightforward, the plot kept me enthralled from the beginning, with engaging characters to match. I always find Ms. Howellís characters attractive and engaging, and Highland Champion is no exception. Although this book has brief appearances from characters introduced in previous books, it is fully a stand-alone...but beware, if you havenít read Ms. Howellís books before, you may find yourself compelled to catch up and you will certainly not regret it. Highland Champion goes to my keeper shelf.
