If you love reading anything by Carly Phillips, this book will be no exception! Ms. Phillips was able draw me into the story from the beginning. The Bachelor is fast paced, with adventures and misunderstandings galore and with a past prank by Roman coming back to haunt him.

Roman Chandler is a handsome, devil-may-care kind of guy, but also protective towards his mother and brothers. Of course there is the common rivalry between siblings and all three will do anything they can to make their mother happy. Which leaves Roman the lucky one to start his hunt for a wife and mother for his future children. All for the love of his mother! But the only thing is Roman did not want to give up his lifestyle as being a reporter that travels all over the world at a momentís notice and was never home long enough, except to wash his clothes.

Charlotte is a caring and beautiful woman. Charlotte comes back to her hometown from New York to open her own boutique, specializing in lingerie, especially handmade crochet panty and bra sets. This unusually made lingerie sets seems to be a hit with the resident ladies - but a certain thief is running around stealing them!

Roman and Charlotte have had chemistry between them since they were in high school and they went on a date. But Charlotte told Roman she could not see him again, and has lived with a broken heart ever since. They are made for each other, both have an adventurous side to them; Roman explores his by traveling and Charlotte by looking at travel magazines. But Charlotte must deal with her past to have the future she wants with Roman and Roman finally deals with some of his own past demon as well.

The secondary characters, Romanís family and Charlotteís, and of course we canít forget the lively town folks, add their own quirks to the story and seem to have their own drama happening at the same time, which is sometimes a hindrance and a blessing to Roman and Charlotte. The Bachelor is the first in the trilogy of Chandler brothers and if they are at all like Romanís story they will be flying off the shelves as soon as they hit them! I know I will be waiting in line to pick up The Playboy, which is Rickís story. I wonder what Ms. Phillips has up her sleeves for the sexy cop?
