Wendy Corsi Staub has done delivered another suspenseful page-turner with All The Way Home .
Lake Charlotte was once the perfect little sleep-eyed town in Upstate New York until the summer ten years ago when 4 teenaged girls vanished of the face of the earth. Rory Connelly remembers all to well; her older sister Carleen was one of the girls. Ten years has passed and Rory has returned home to a family that is crumbling before her very eyes. Her mother is totally out of touch with reality and her kid sister detests the sight of her.
Something is brewing in Lake Charlotte. On the anniversary of the very first disappearance another girl vanishes without a trace. Rory feels that same panic as before but this time it`s different because Rory`s life is on the line as well.
All The Way Home has become another instant favorite of mine by Ms.Corsi Staub. Although it starts out a bit slow in the beginning suddenly the action picks up and holds on to never letting you go for a second. A huge cast of characters rounds out this book. The Connelly’s: Rory, Kevin, Molly, and their mother all suffer from tragic events from the past and each one tries to cope in the best way they can. The Randalls, Michelle, Lou and their toddler son Ozzie, live next doorand although Michelle wasn`t home for the disappearances ten years ago she too feels this gripping sense of panic and unease whenever she is home alone. Many secondary characters add little odds and ends now and again making this a bigger puzzle to solve. If you have never had the pleasure of reading Ms.Corsi Staub All The Way Home is a wonderful place to start. This one is going on my keeper shelf!
