Cassidy Buchanan experiences sibling rivalry with her older sister. As teenagers, they rival for boys' affections and get along about as well as any regular teenage girls growing up in the same household. There is extra tension because their father, while idolizing his oldest daughter, seems to have no feelings for Cassidy. When her life ripped apart by a horrific crime, it will shape her entire world even as a grown adult.

Brig Mackenzie has been known as the town troublemaker as long as he can remember. He canít outlive his reputation, no matter how hard he tries. The Buchanans were his last hope of working in the area. Every other job was shot if he couldnít hold down this one. He is caught up between the two sisters and when the crime happens, he must make some tough choices.

Years later, another nearly-identical crime occurs. Now as the facts begin to get sorted, will they finally be able to lay these things to rest?

This was an intriguing novel, that the reader, once sunk into, will have a hard time putting down. I enjoyed it immensely and found it suspenseful to leave the reader with so many questions. You see so much of the characters lives, and their pain and frustrations. The ending has some major twists and turns that the reader doesnít see coming. Definitely a hot summer read, in more ways than one!

Final Scream is a re-titled release of Ms. Jackson's earlier work - Intimacies.
