After having first turned Danny Rees down for a date, due to her firm rule against dating customers, comic book store owner Stella Scott decides to overlook her rule when they next meet. She wants to keep their relationship on an uncomplicated level but that doesn’t seem possible and their fledgling relationship might just be over before they had a chance.

Danny Rees is captivated by Stella but becomes suspicious of her after he finds some drawings and his place is trashed. After which he decides to throw himself into work to avoid facing the possibility that the woman he is interested in might have ulterior motives for being with him. Unable to get Stella out of his mind Danny must now find out what, if anything, Stella has to do with the attempted break-ins of his home.

Hot Spot is yet another great book by Susan Johnson and is sure to have readers sighing in bliss over the budding relationship between Stella and Danny. The story is one of two people who are not looking for a permanent relationship but who seem to be developing one nonetheless. Susan Johnson is always a delight to read and I look forward to reading more of her work.
