Joy Polanski and her family are vampires who work in a family-owned funeral parlor. Joy now has developed a bit of a problem with Detective Larkin McBride. He quickly has become Joy's dilemma, and it isn't just because he's big and yummy looking. Most importantly is the fact that he can read Joy's every thought. There are some murders taking place, and there appears to be a murdering vampire on the loose. So what will Larkin do when Joy is thinking about all the dead bodies showing up and the possibility that they were killed? A lot of the evidence points to Joy's brother as being the murderer. Can Larkin put aside his suspicions and focus his sleuthing ways to help Joy locate the rogue vampire?

Once again, Ms. Cassidy has created fun, snappy, and totally entertaining characters. From beginning to end, the book snapped with the chemistry between Joy and Larkin. This book is appealing for those who love vampire stories, humor and add a dash of mystery.
