The third installment of Lovespell’s Crimson City series doesn’t disappoint. Patti O’Shea proves once again why her books are some of the most highly anticipated of the year. Through A Crimson Veil takes us back to the futuristic Los Angeles or Crimson City.

Crimson City is an uneasy melting pot about to boil over. The three species-werewolf, vampire and human-have always believed the fight would be between their kind. Little did they realize there’s another species waiting in the wings to take over and the demons won’t be denied.

Mika has never belonged to the human world of her father or the demon world of her mother. All she really longs for is to be left alone to live her life the way she wants to, but there are others who have plans for her. Now she’s made a deal with the Council. She’s heading to Crimson City to retrieve something the Council wants. It’s the only way to save her mate and her family, but she’ll have to lie to do it.

Connor McCabe has been fighting demons all his life. Though he doesn’t kill the weaker ones, he doesn’t like them either. Suddenly he finds himself protecting a smart mouthed sexy demon and he isn’t happy about it. There’s something about her that draws him like a moth to a flame, but he’ll struggle with his attraction.

Will Mika find what she needs to set her free or will that very thing end up destroying her and the man she loves?

Crimson City comes alive through the words of Patti O’Shea. Her fast paced and realistic story of demons and their presence in the world brings chills to the reader’s spine. Mika is a wise-cracking heroine who’s toughness shines through in every move she makes. She also knows the softer side of emotions and caring. Having never fit in anywhere, she does her best to find where she belongs. Connor’s a strong man with tight control over his emotions and his life. Mika shakes him up enough to find a little joy in the dark world he lives in.

Through A Crimson Veil is a worthy addition to this wonderful series.
