If Stephanie Laurens is the author, then you know it will be a great read!

Beautiful Amelia Cynster has set her sights on Lord Lucien Ashford, sixth Viscount Calverton. Amelia and Luc have known each other all of their days, their families are very close, and they are the closest of friends. But at twenty-three years of age, Amelia is tired of waiting for Luc to notice that she’s more than that little girl he used to tease. She’s a woman and she wants him as a woman wants a man, and to spend all of her days with him. After learning that the Ashfords were in dire straits, Amelia comes up with a brilliant plan. She offers herself up to Luc, as his bride, in order that he may have her dowry, and save the family from ruin.

Little does Amelia know, but Luc has invested on a venture that has just made him a very rich man indeed. But how can he refuse such an offer, when it’s the one thing he wants more than anything? To have Amelia Cynster, stubborn though she is, and knowing her as well as she does, to be his wife would make him the happiest of men. But, if he tells her that he doesn’t need her dowry, will she take back her offer of marriage? Or should he just let her believe that he does indeed need her money to avoid scandal?

What commences is a tug of war of sex and passion that neither one ever thought could be a part of what they went into this marriage for. Amelia has always loved Luc, but can she convince him to love her in return? And will Luc ever gather enough courage to tell Amelia the truth about his financial situation and convince her that he truly loves her?

I loved this story. In my humble opinion, it’s one of the top Cynster books. Stephanie Laurens writes with passion and wit. The secondary characters, right down to the stable boys, are full and rich in personality and warmth. And the sex scenes are very hot!! LOL Amelia is a Cynster through and through. Her will to love to the fullest and sacrifice all for those to whom she’s close, is a trait among this family that’s treasured and admired. Luc; well, he’s a man!! Very stubborn, never wanting to admit that he loves someone. Afraid to admit that he does and she will use that knowledge as power over him. Geez! How much more egotistical can a man get!! Typical!! J

You will love this book, and all of the other books in the Cynster series (read all of our reviews on Stephanie Laurens on the review pages) and you won’t be disappointed in any one of them!

Happy reading!
