At an early age Violet was connected to her best friend Darlene. The night Darlene was murdered; she was on her way to Violetís house. Grady, now the sheriff, is Darleneís older brother and he hasnít talked with Violet in all those years until he had to call and let her know her father was died. Grady and Violet were attracted to each other but they fought the attraction, denying their love for each other.

There are secrets in the small town and Grady is trying to find out what really happened to Darlene and the other women that are getting murdered. He is trying to also keep Violet from being a victim as well. Will he succeed? Someone seems to be one step ahead of him as accidents befall Violet almost around every bend.

A Breath Away will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next. The story is spellbinding leaving you guessing who is murdering all these women and why. I would like to know more about the deputy and he seems to have some secrets of his own. There are a few surprises along the way that will leave you wondering just what is happening in this small town and what other secrets it might hold.
