This is the story of Julia, who finds herself transported to Camelot where she meets the legendary Lancelot.
Camelot is a wonderful legend and there are varying versions of it. The wonderful thing about legends is the fantasy attached to them. No one really knows the actual truth. Was there ever a Camelot? We love to believe that there was a place such as this. But Judith O’Brien decided to add to the legend by giving it a whole new meaning.
I was totally absorbed in this story from the first page to the last. It is truly delightful - full of warmth, humour with a brilliant plotline!
Julia is a great heroine. A clever advertising executive in the present time, it is surprising that Julia blends in so well at Camelot. But Lancelot, the handsome folk hero of the legend, wasn’t quite so adaptable – he arrived in Julia’s world totally lost until he finds a role for himself.
It can’t have been easy to delve into Camelot and create a new meaning to it. She uses all the famous characters, like King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, and the wonderful Merlin. Judith O’Brien also gives an interesting insight into the frantic world of advertising. She manages to weave Camelot into the product for which Julia is trying to find a selling point. There are some wonderful funny moments when the advertising team meet Lancelot for the first time.
If you like time travels with a good dose of magic, get a copy of this book - you won’t be disappointed.
