Jessie has been abducted and inseminated with Jake McClendon’s sperm. She manages to escape and confront this man only to discover that he doesn’t believe a word she says even when he sees the pregnancy result for himself.

This sounded like a far-fetched plot that would never hold together when I read the back cover blurb, but I thought I would give it a try, as the books I previously read by this author were brilliant. I am sure glad I read this one. What a story!

Delores Fossen sure has a vivid imagination and dreams up amazing plotlines. This one sure is fantastic, but it makes for a great story. The tension Fossen creates for her hero and heroine make the book one you just can’t put down without impatiently wanting the time to hurry until you can pick it up again.

Despite their differences, Jake and Jessie soon find passion overtaking them. It is a passion so strong that it is only a matter of time until all their differences are put aside. Then of course there is the pregnancy, which links them in the determination to protect this still to be born life of which they share responsibility.

It is hard to decide which of the secondary characters is the enemy as the author weaves her magic to show it could be any of four people. The danger that Jessie and Jake face makes the readers heart pound. In creating tension and heart racing plots, Delores Fossen is a first class writer. Her clever plots are always so different from each other. This one is one of her best.

Delores Fossen is fastly becoming a favourite must buy author for me, and that includes her early work too! Great story.
