Payback is part of the Athena Force miniseries in the Silhouette Bombshell line. This story is about Dawn OíShaugnessey; she is just one of Rainyís daughters. It seems she has a nice genetic mutation. She can heal herself in minutes from anything whether it be a mere cut or a gunshot wound, and she doesn't bruise either. But she now has a problem as her body is starting to turn on itself. She must find the formula to stop the process, and along the way, save her other two sisters as well.

Dawn is also now the top assassin with Lab 33 and probably in the world. Now she must go undercover once more to retrieve the formula from Sir William. In order to do this, she must take a position within his lab. She doesnít go in as herself but undercover, and well, things get interesting from the moment she tries to enter the compound. She is about to meet her match in one SAS Officer, Des Asher.

Des Asher knows that Dawn is not the person she claims to be, but he canít prove it just yet. Oh, he plans on it, but it takes a while. Des starts tightening the security on the compound as well as inside the buildings.

Now the questions are can Dawn outmaneuver Des or will he outmaneuver her? What about the growing attraction they feel to each other? Dawn has to come to terms with a few things about her past, and of course she wants revenge on Aldrich for making her the lab rat she is today, with all the experiments she was put through as she was growing up and still more now. Can she have her revenge and still get the notes to the formula and save herself and her sisters' lives?

If you havenít read any of the Athena Force stories yet, I donít know why not. If you like connectivity in going from one story to another with a secondary character or one that isnít quite secondary from before and enjoy action, suspense, and mystery, then this series of stories is for you. Of course, we canít forget these Athena women can kick anyoneís ass, and they do on more than one occasion. They also come to the aid of another when it is needed. If you want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next between Dawn and Des, then donít hesitate to pick up Payback. Iím hoping we find out more information from the epilogue in a future story.
