Dr. Sierra Gibbs, Ph.D was always a dreamer and not a risk taker. Her Dad, Harry Gibbs knew this about his youngest triplet. Harry tried hard to lead a normal life, but the adventure of the perfect heist was in his blood. Harry and his wife, Amanda agreed to separate for their girls idolized him. Sierra inherited his logical brain as well as making a list on things that she would do. She called herself a coward for she was on the outside looking in. On her twenty-sixth birthday, she was given a letter her Dad had written before his death. It had been kept by the one person her Dad could trust, his attorney. Sierra sisters, Natalie and Rory have opened their letters and now it was Sierra’s turn. Opening her letter she realized that her Dad knew her feelings and told her to take the risk and start trusting herself.
Sierra had already decided to make some changes in her life. It was time to stop doing research and writing books and taking control of her sex life. So she pulled her blue cards out and wrote down her step-by- step instructions. She was going to try a new thing called speed dating, but there was no chemistry with any man she meets for it was spoiled by a kiss from Ryder Kane. It was a kiss that was not planned and in the middle of a restaurant. The fireworks that Ryder set off in Sierra did not follow her list at all. She just wanted sex; for Sierra did not have the self-confidence to think there could be a relationship.
Ryder Kane knew he was wrong for kissing Sierra but he had to taste her lips and he wanted to taste much more but it was not the right time or spot for that to happen. He was a busy man running a company called, Favors for a Fee. To help Ryder, she passed a message to his friend, Mark. Mark was investigating a story that was apparently very dangerous because he winds up in the hospital in a coma. Ryder must now protect Sierra for it seems as if someone is after her. What was so important that neither of them know? Ryder will have to investigate and Sierra plans on helping him. Ryder would like to keep her a safe place but Sierra has other ideas of her own.
Will Ryder be able to trust himself with Sierra? He knows she can feel the chemistry that is between them. Will he be able to do his job and keep his heart intact? Will Sierra risk her heart and let herself trust Ryder?
I enjoyed the last book in the series Risking It All. The Favor kept me in my seat until the last page. Cara Summers not only kept me interested in Sierra and Ryder but also involved her sisters. I found this to be my favorite of the three.
