In Hot Pursuit is not smooth, but edgy, sexy, playful and definitely fun! It's not candles and satin sheets, but a one,two,three...night-stand, handcuffs, fake fur and a wicked sense of humor.

In Joanne Rock's latest, Lexi Mansfield, New York's insecure but flamboyant fashion critic, sets out to prove that she CAN attract a man, no matter her style in clothes, her choice of nail polish - and even threatening letters and resentful designers won't stop her from doing so!

And what better way to insure the desired man's attention than handcuffing him, locking him behind bars and putting him up for auction at your favorite charity's fundraiser? All for a good cause, of course. *grin*

Chased after and hunted down, undercover cop Josh Winger might have his cover blown - but how is he to resist a Lexi that is a little wild, a little bad, and who hides her vulnerability in a tight dress while wielding handcuffs? The reward is a night of wild inhibited sex. Reason enough for Josh to turn into the relentless hunter and go for the "bondage queen" herself as well as her enemies. And as a true romance hero, Josh doesn't mind standing up to his best friend(newly engaged to Lexi's best friend and therefore self-appointed protector of Lexi's virtue). Or rescuing his chosen lady and her "zoo" from an arson attack. Or chasing the bad guys and giving Lexi all she wants. *swoon*

Kinky it sounds, but joyful and playful it is. In Hot Pursuit is more sexy and less romantic than her previous release Silk, Lace & Videotapes. Risky and exuberant, it shows what makes Joanne Rock's Blaze books so special and adventurous.

I like Joanne Rock, I like her voice! It's very unpretentious and direct, never gets sentimental, not even when it is confession time. So don't expect to weep over the characters' antics. You are more likely to cheer them on whether they kick some serious ass or get into the seduction mode. They are real people with no need for lots of money and superficial beauty, showing that courage and compassion can be just as sexy and seductive, if not even more so. Read Joanne Rock's books for characters that are vivacious, no matter their past or insecurities, for characters that grow and fight for love.

So what you've got is a book and an author that, although still very new on the shelves of your local bookseller, won't stay unknown and undiscovered for much longer. Too good a writer and with too entertaining stories, I wouldn't be surprised to see all of Joanne Rock's books cleared off those shelves by eager readers and fans. I'm sure that In Hot Pursuit will prove my point. So hurry and secure YOUR copy!
