Dark Moon is the last in the Moon Series by Lori Handeland. This story is about the elusive Dr. Elise Hanover and the trouble she finds herself in not only when the compound blows up but also with her one-time lover and now FBI agent, Nic Franklin.

Elisa is hiding a secret from everyone that she works with except for, of course Edward. She is also a werewolf and it has been and still is her job to try and find a cure not only for her but for others as well, including Damien. But with the compound gone and nowhere else to turn to she heads out to Fairhaven to have a chat with Edward, with Nic along for the ride. What a ride it turns out to be as well.

Nic is not that happy at all of finding Elise and what her job is. The attraction between the two is still just as hot as it was all those years ago when she disappeared one night, without leaving a word. He is angry and bitter. He goes along with Elise because he needs to talk to Edward about the Jager-Sucher. He has a list of names of people missing and he has a feeling that they are involved with them. Of course, the lists of names are all criminals in one form or another, but still he was given a lead and he follows it, even when it puts him in danger.

It seems that trouble and mystery are following Elise and Nic to Fairhaven and has decided to stay with them as well. Elise isnít sure she wants to know who is following her and trying to kill her in the process, she has a feeling of who it might be but isnít sure and that person/werewolf really scares her.

Dark Moon is full of mystery, magic, legends and secrets. How long can Elise keep her secret from Jessie, Will, Leigh and Damien only time will tell? How will they react once they do know and what about Nic? He still loves her; will that change once he knows she is a werewolf? With Jessie and Leigh in the picture we know there is going to be some good bickering going on between the two of them and we know that it almost always gets out of hand with the two of them. Of course we canít forget Will and Damien. Will is still his ever-present nose in the book following the myths and legends and trying to piece the puzzle together before the big event happens and they try to stop it.

Ms. Handeland has once again given us a marvelous read. This story can easily be read in one sitting. I was hooked from the moment I started reading to the very end and then I still wanted more story to read. But alas, we will get another story of Jessie and Will. Let us not forget that Ms. Handeland has another trilogy of books coming out next year about more Jager-Sucher set in New Orleans. I canít wait to see what she has in store for them and what other creatures of the night might make an appearance. If you have not read any of these stories, what are you waiting for? Make sure you start with Blue Moon and read your way to a startling revelation at the end of Dark Moon. I can promise you will not be disappointed.
