You think you have "the boss from Hell" ? Jane Laine's boss, Dick Reese, has a hissy fit of epic proportions when Jane accidentally orders regular size Reese's Peanut Butter Cups instead of the minis for a big show at the art gallery. Jane has worked long and hard for Dick Reese Art Gallery, but is afraid her job may be over when she is called into the office. This would be another blow to her fragile ego after a stunning break-up with her long-time boyfriend. Instead of firing her, Mr. Reese tells her she is going on a five month art fair tour with Ian Rhys-Fitzsimmons, a current darling of the art world.

Jane does not get the posh plane seats or accommodations that Ian does, thanks to Amanda, who has made arrangements, but Jane begins to see the fair tour as more of an adventure than assignment and has a whole new appreciation for love and art as the months go by.

Ms. Pace has written a witty novel that is much more than the typical chick-lit story. There are many laugh out loud moments thanks to a variety of quirky characters. Even if you are not familiar with the art world, you will get a whole new appreciation and perspective on what goes on behind the scenes. The Andy Warhol quotes that begin each chapter are a clever touch and fit perfectly with each new situation.

Jane is an engaging heroine, who makes the same sort of mistakes that we all do, but is strong enough to move on and not wallow too long in self pity. The snappy dialog and breezy style help bring all the characters to life in this captivating novel.

If Andy Warhol Had a Girlfriend , it would have probably been someone like Jane whose charisma would have intrigued him. This is a book that will charm the reader with a funny and poignant look at love.
