The writing team of C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp introduce readers to the Sazi with their first romance, Hunterís Moon. The Sazi are the consortium of were-creatures that have combined their forces into a unified entity with their own structure and laws.
Unfortunately, hitman Tony Giodone doesnít know anything about Sazi, only about the fact that he has been turned into a werewolf. It seems that one of his victims took his assassination attempt personally and tried to kill him; too bad it didnít quite work. Forced to adapt to these changes alone, he has actually done pretty well. He knows when to stay out of sight and has learned to use some of his heightened senses. They come in pretty handy during the day with his security business, and really well for his more lucrative sideline. He has had a pretty eventful week and is looking forward to the full moon to give him a break. He has one more appointment before he holes up to change.
Sue Quentinís disguise is straight out of a Matt Helm movie. From the brunette wig to the oversize sunglasses, her attempts to be inconspicuous have backfired. When she tells Tony that she wants to arrange her own death, he is stunned. She won a $268 Million Lotto jackpot! How miserable can she possibly be? It turns out that she can be pretty unhappy. But Tony hesitates to take the job. There is something about Sue that has his senses on alert.
Hunterís Moon has something for everyone. There is loads of fast-paced action, a little mystery and plenty of romance. Tony and Sue are an unlikely couple, but you want them to get together. Sue does need some more backbone, though, and hopefully Tony is just the man to give her some confidence. It is a wonderful start to what I hope is a multi-book series. I will be watching for the sequel, Moonís Web, later this year.
