Miriam Marcus is trying to keep her business afloat. When the bank notifies her she only has one week to make good on the loan, she feels like she is drowning, and she has a great fear of deep water. When her fatherís old associate, Avery Chandler, makes her an offer of saving the business, at first she wants nothing to do with him, but then she realizes he may be her only hope. When she finds out she has the winning bid on some antique jewelry, she tells Avery she will come to Seattle to talk to him.

Trey Curtis just wants to retire and sail on his boat. When a quirk of fate brings him and Miriam together, his retirement will have to be put on hold. When the attorney Miriam bought the jewels from is found dead, she is the prime suspect. Trey knew people in the police department, he promised he would keep an eye on her, until they could prove she did not kill the attorney. When someone from Trey's past re-enters his life, and kidnaps Miriam for the jewels, Trey realizes his life will never be the same again.

Miriam and Trey are from two different worlds. All Miriam wants to do is go home to her business, her friends, and her life. All Trey wants is to retire and sail. When fate keeps getting them together, passion starts to happen.

This was a fast-paced, action packed, heart-stopping thriller. This book has romance, mystery, murder, and other elements which will surprise you. If you like thrillers, or mysteries with romance thrown in, this book is for you. I was able to read it in one sitting, could not put it down.
