Merry Montrose has three couples to go until the curse her godmother put on her will be rescinded in Shirley Jump’s contribution for the In a Fairy World series. The intended target? Parris Hammond. So what if Merry will get much satisfaction in giving the hoity-toity Miss Parris her just desserts? Call it a fringe benefit.

Parris Hammond is at a resort to help with a charity auction for an aquarium. A near drowning was definitely not on her agenda for the day. Merry, on the other hand, had things under control. She knew marine biologist Brad Smith would come to the rescue. However, as humans are wont to do, Parris and Brad mess up the plan and their first meeting takes a nosedive. The two have more in common than each originally thought and thanks to their meddling fairy they have plenty of chances to find out.

Brad may look rough on the outside but there is more to him than meets the eye. His dedication and passion for his work is commendable regardless what his family may think. Parris is soon caught up in the beauty he sees everyday and she realizes that this ‘fisherboy’ could very well be her own Prince Charming.

Brad didn’t think Parris was anything but a shallow high-society debutante and he’d had enough of that thank you very much. She belonged in the world he’d left behind not in the one where he lived. His work, his quest, is all encompassing there was no room for her. But Brad learns that tolerance is a good thing and that compromise is not ruination.

Shirley Jump writes a fun modern day fairytale that will enchant romance readers far and near. Hero Brad is an irresistible, well-defined character with as much humor and intelligence as he has good looks. Parris has a big heart once she allows herself to trust. It is a joy to watch her haughty exterior crumble in the face of true love.

The interesting and well-researched storyline, strong characters, and a bit of magic thrown into the mix is enough to win this reviewer over, still it is the heartwarming moments in the story that sets this romance apart from the run-of-the-mill. Buy a copy of Her Frog Prince today and prepare to be charmed.
