Set in Louisiana, Gabrielle Deveaux returns to Shadow Haven, her family’s old plantation home. Carrying secrets of generations of women, she is trying to reconnect with her roots. What she doesn’t realize is how much trouble she is in. Her recently deceased spouse has family that is trying to gain custody of her daughter. How far will they go to get their hands on her little girl?

Jarrod Landry was originally hired by Gabrielle’s mother-in-law to try and help them pursue their custody suit. He quickly finds he believes their suit unreasonable and instead of taking their offer decides to represent her.

There is an evil lurking in the shadows of Shadow Haven. Will Gabrielle be able to with the help of her Grandnana’s spirit discover the source of this evil and defeat it?

This novel was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed the non-stop pace of the heroine and hero. Being a fan of minor paranormal elements such as the Tarot, I was intrigued by those parts of the story. Watching Gabrielle come to terms with her past and present was interesting.

This is sure to be a winner with many fans of suspense romance. Each page brings new intrigue or action and will keep the reader enthralled.
