When Samantha Robbins finds discrepancies in the accounting records of the company she works for, she contacts the F.B.I. After she stumbles across the body of the agent sent in to investigate her allegations, the Feds realize the extent of the danger she is in and immediately put her into the Witness Protection Program. Samantha learns the hard way not to trust anyone and how very dangerous it is for her to make new friends.

A year after her first relocation she’s almost killed. As a consequence, she has to adopt a new identity and name, Devon Summers, and is moved to Hawaii. Hiring on to work for a small company as a wedding planner, she meets Chad Langston. Devon is determined to avoid him, but Chad is intrigued by her insistence on ignoring the chemistry between them and tries to find out who she really is. As a former Delta Operative he has connections.

Brock Hardesty works for Devon's former employer and as head of security, he is doing everything in his power to locate Devon. With impressive technology at his hands and an endless supply of people to fulfill his every command, he hunts her ruthlessly but seems to always be one step behind her.

Adding even more suspense to this already engrossing tale is a connected story involving some top-secret equipment Chad is testing. Put your seatbelt on and hang tight because this story moves at a breakneck pace, and you won’t want to put this book down until you’ve read the very last page.

With so many characters being introduced very quickly, the beginning of the book can be confusing, but it’s not long before you’ve figured out who’s who. I’ve never read this author before, but you can be guaranteed she’s going to be an auto buy for me from now on.
